Course Description
This hands-on course is designed for business professionals and experienced Excel users who want to organize, analyze, and report on data more effectively using modern Excel tools and reporting features. Participants will learn how to work with structured Excel data, create dynamic PivotTables and PivotCharts, and leverage Microsoft Power Pivot and the Excel Data Model to perform advanced analysis on large or complex datasets.
The course begins with foundational data management techniques, including sorting, filtering, subtotaling, and working with Excel Tables. Participants will then build increasingly sophisticated PivotTables, progressing from basic summaries to interactive, multi-dimensional reports enhanced with slicers, timelines, filters, and PivotCharts.
The second half of the course introduces Microsoft Power Pivot, a powerful data modeling and analytics tool within Excel. Participants will learn how to extend the capabilities of traditional PivotTables by importing and relating multiple data sources, creating scalable data models, performing advanced calculations, and building interactive reporting solutions capable of handling significantly larger datasets.
The course also introduces modern Excel reporting workflows, including integration concepts between Power Query, Power Pivot, and dashboard reporting. AI-assisted productivity tools such as Microsoft Copilot and ChatGPT are also discussed as emerging technologies that can support data analysis, reporting, and workflow automation within Excel.
Through practical exercises and real-world business scenarios, participants will gain the skills needed to transform raw data into meaningful business insights while improving reporting efficiency, accuracy, and decision-making capabilities.
This course is ideal for analysts, accountants, financial professionals, operations teams, project managers, and Excel power users who regularly work with large datasets and need more advanced reporting and analytical tools within Microsoft Excel.
