The Foundation of Leadership

Leadership is not a position, it is a responsibility. All too often, employees are promoted into leadership based on their technical skills, not because they possess the knowledge, competencies and experience that are vital to leadership success. The consequences are often detrimental to an organization’s bottom line; decreased engagement, retention, productivity, and profitability.

In this highly interactive and engaging session, participants will gain the knowledge and ability to serve as a catalyst of success. They will have a clearer understanding of the foundation of leadership, as well as a deeper appreciation for the responsibility that is paramount to leading others. They will recognize the difference between leadership and management and why both are necessary, understand the competencies necessary for leadership effectiveness, be able to select the appropriate leadership style for a variety of situations and create a personal leadership identity and action plan to use moving forward.

Workshop Summary:

A leader’s emotions are contagious in an organization; as a result, he/she has the ability to persuade, motivate, and inspire others to create a positive, energized and collaborative working environment. An emotionally intelligent leader is in tune with him or herself and the people they work with, creating a high level of significance in the workplace that leads to increased productivity and job satisfaction.

This highly engaged workshop is comprised of experimental learning, proven techniques, and application exercises that take leadership development beyond the bounds of theory and into “real time” interaction and training. Participants are introduced to new concepts and tools, and then spend a majority of their time experientially applying the learning, practicing the new skills, and trying new behaviors, all with the support and coaching of a highly experienced facilitator.
