Microsoft® Project 2016 Level II: Advanced Tools for Managing and Reporting Projects

Prerequisites

Completion of Microsoft® Project Level I: Foundations or equivalent experience is required. Participants should already be comfortable creating and updating basic project plans using Microsoft® Project.

Target Student

This course is designed for individuals who understand fundamental project management concepts and already possess the skills to build and modify project plans in Microsoft® Project. Participants will learn how to use the software’s more advanced features to manage, track, and control projects through execution. The focus is on refining schedules, customizing project data, managing costs and resources, and generating insightful reports to support effective decision-making during the implementation phase of a project.

This two-day Microsoft Project course for Project 2016 runs from 8:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. each day and focuses on managing and reporting projects during execution. You learn to import project information, export cost and schedule data to Excel, and share project visuals. The class then covers entering task progress and overtime, rescheduling and filtering tasks, setting interim plans, and creating custom tables and fields.

You also update cost rate tables, group and summarize project costs, and link external documents to tasks. The reporting lesson shows you how to create and customize visual reports, including interactive dashboards with Excel and Visio. The course finishes with reusable project templates, custom views shared across projects, resource pools, and master projects that combine related plans for consolidated tracking.

This MS Project course suits people who have completed Microsoft Project Level I Foundations or already build and update project plans. The course fee is $795 for two days of instructor-led group training, and the form on this page lets you ask about upcoming dates or a group session.
