Microsoft® Excel 365/2024 Level I Foundations

Microsoft Excel Level I Foundations is for users who are self-taught and typically use other’s spreadsheets to enter information.  This course covers navigation and the Ribbon, entering data, selecting ranges creating simple,  formulas and using simple functions, change the appearance of worksheets using the Ribbon and the Format Cells Dialogue Box, and using comments in cells.

This one-day Excel training for beginners runs from 8:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. as a live virtual class with an instructor. You learn to create and save workbooks, move around the Excel screen and Ribbon, select cells and ranges, and enter and edit data with AutoFill and the formula bar. The class then covers simple formulas with relative and absolute references, AutoSum and basic functions, and cutting, copying and pasting information. You also practice renaming and organizing worksheets, freezing rows and columns, formatting cells and numbers, creating tables and adding comments.

Level I Foundations suits people who taught themselves Excel or mostly enter data into spreadsheets that someone else built. It is the first course in our Microsoft Excel series and gives you the basics you need before moving on to Level II Intermediate and Level III Advanced Topics. If you are looking for Excel classes for beginners that focus on everyday office tasks, this basic Excel course is the place to start.
